Diana Krall -an hour late - unbelievably rude
The Ste. Michelle Winery is a wonderful venue where we went with two other couples. Very easy in and out. Got good seats. We live so close to it that we can sometimes hear the concerts from our home. But they run it quite smoothly. We got there at about 5:00 p.m. to get the good seats, but each of us brought something to eat and it was just like having a picnic. Eventually, I'm not sure how late they were, but a jazz group (who had admittedly never played before, and it sounded like it) came out. The music was so bad I actually thought the sound equipment was bad. Finally, finally, The Secret Sisters came out and just started playing. Almost everything she played was fast and kind of "junky" jazz. Not like her CDs at all. A fun picnic with our friends - I don't know how any performer can think it's just fine to show up an hour late. We did have a nice dinner. Very fun. And in just two hours we would have had a nice dinner and then enjoy the concert, right? Probably very good musicians separately, and if they had ever played together before it might have been okay. They were obviously thrust out there because it was getting so late, and people were starting to wonder if it would ever start. It was as if she was trying to make up for lost time. We decided to leave after about 45 minutes to an hour, and we weren't the first to start leaving. We went to our friends' house to listen to her CDs there. But at least we got our money back from that.
